Standard V- Teachers Reflect on the Practices
Element Va. Teachers analyze student learning.
- Data Driven SMART Goals: This year I worked with my PLT partner, administration, and our IRT specialist to use date derived from our quarterly baseline assessments to create SMART Goals. These SMART goals helped us in planning instruction based on student needs.
- Applying Instructional Techniques: This year during staff meetings and professional development, instructional techniques were modeled for us. I was able to apply several of these to my own classroom. Below I have listed a few that I used:
- "What is in a name?"
- Discussion Protocol
- Various Inclusion Activities
- Breakout Group Protocols
- Culturally Responsive Teaching: This year I enjoyed participating in our school-wide professional development which centered around the text Culturally Responsive Teaching & The Brain by Zaretta Hammond. This book study encouraged me to reflect on my teaching practices and to make positive changes in the classroom
- Adaptation: This year we have consistently had to adapt to the "new normal". I am proud of the growth I have made this year in technology integration, Social and Emotional Instruction, and flexibility.
