The Wolfpack Writing Project 2012
The Wolfpack Writing Project is part of the Teaching Writing Across the Curriculum course at NC State. This project allows for pre-service teachers to work in collaboration with middle school students at Centennial Middle School. During this project I worked with a student to help him develop his writing skills through effective practices. This experience showed me how wonderful middle school students are. The students were excited and ready to work on their writing. I learned how to reach my partner, draw on his experiences, and work with him to create several writing pieces. I am extremely proud of all we accomplished during this semester. During this time, I was able to see his personality and writing skills grow. Leading and guiding him through this experience was a wonderful gift. I was able to work collaboratively with my classmates to create a comfortable learning environment. This comfortable learning environment allowed my partner and I to create the work you see below. On the right hand side you will see pictures from our presentation/celebration day. Below, is a video of our poem performance. Underneath the pictures, is a link to some of the work we created during our time together. We worked hard during our time together and accomplished so much to be proud of!
